Although equate rights for all were affirmed in the founding documents of the coupled States, many of the new countrys inhabitants were denied requisite rights (American civil rights movement). Women and African Americans had teensy to no schooling. Although this country was founded on the public opinion that both man is considered equal, there were a lot of short citizens in the U.S. In 1848, women started a revolution known as the Womens Rights Movement. To let their voices be heard the women held conventions despite the arising opposition.! The important point of these conventions was to get their point of liberty and equality out to the equal folk. Martin Luther King Junior delivered his famous I arouse a Dream speech and spoke of how he treasured segregation to stop.
